Aids for weight loss part 3: antioxidants

Aids for weight loss part 3: antioxidants

This is the third and final in a series of three articles on weight loss aids: that is, after seeing how fat -burning foods and high-fiber foods work , let’s see antioxidant foods. Why are they said to be friends of metabolism?
Foods that perform a powerful antioxidant action have been seen to play a role in counteracting the inflammatory and aging processes of our body, thus helping our immune system.

Immune system and metabolism are two sides of the same coin. It is the reason why if we want to lose weight, we cannot give a damn about our health, that is, we cannot choose drastic plans, we cannot ignore the signals that our body gives us. For example, if we are convinced that fruit is bad for us and we think of avoiding the consumption of fruit and vegetables with a multivitamin, what we lose, besides the fibers, are the antioxidants.

Clearly, we can take antioxidants from many foods, without necessarily buying the so-called superfoods: if we want to lose weight, we can pay attention to how many antioxidants to take in our slimming diet.
For example: spices such as turmeric (to combine with pepper for greater absorption), cloves, cinnamon, ginger, cumin seeds, fennel seeds.
Fresh and dried aromatic herbs.

Fresh fruit, both raw and cooked vegetables.
Green tea, red wine, chocolate, grapes, citrus fruits, crucifers and red fruits are always at the center of studies for their antioxidant power.
Among the supplements, quality omega3s are recommended, and, if we really want to take some “superfoods”, a great antioxidant power is given by spirulina algae powder, açai seed, maca, matcha tea, goji berries, baobab.
At the end of this journey, even if they are not specifically antioxidants, I recommend not underestimating probiotic and prebiotic foods for intestinal health : in fact, this also affects metabolism and weight loss.
