The negative calorie diet: lose weight by eating
The negative calorie diet has been at the center of the studies of Dr. Neal Barnard and his team of researchers from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and of some slimming methods such as recently the homonymous ” Negative calorie diet ” by Rocco DiSpirito, famous chef American.
However, the idea behind these schemes is the same: there are foods rich in fiber that lead to a reduced absorption of overall daily calories. Therefore they are foods that have calories, but which, due to the effect of the fibers, reduce the assimilation of calories from other foods, with the result that you lose weight.
It is no coincidence that some fiber-based solutions are present in many slimming products, pills and supplements that are also known to lose weight, in products for reducing cholesterol and even diabetes. Numerous scientific studies have confirmed the role of some fibers in reducing calories while eating your fill, and you can reduce calories by 10 percent just by including these fibers in your diet.
Clearly, as in all dietary regimes that focus on fibrous foods for weight loss, the negative calorie diet is not free from side effects: in particular, those suffering from colitis or diverticula or having to follow a low residue diet obviously cannot take advantage of the advantage of fiber for weight loss. For everyone else, with the simple foresight of drinking more water, the negative calorie diet allows you to eat more and increase your calorie deficit thanks to fiber as if you were on a more rigid diet.
Here is an example plan for the negative calorie diet.
