Probiotics? They create intestinal bloating

In a recent facebook direct that you can see here  I mentioned the fact that those with intestinal bloating problems should limit the consumption of probiotics.

And that in general probiotics should be used with extreme caution.

And often after having “treated” the intestine with carbonates that regulate intestinal acidity, such as Basenpulver

But why, are probiotics bad for you?

Probiotics by themselves are harmless when used in minimal doses and only when needed.

But the business of probiotics today is such that, as with other popular products and supplements, people are believed to be good at any time.

Another example is omega-3s.
However this is not true.

And a recent study proves me right.

Augusta  University Medical College of Georgia conducted a study of 30 patients undergoing probiotic therapy. Of these , 22 would have developed an excess of intestinal bacterial fermentation.

In addition to intestinal bloating, the patients developed other symptoms. Mental confusion, stress, difficulty concentrating, as well as a swollen stomach, cramps, regularity problems.

The researchers then analyzed what happened in the intestine in the 22 people who had adverse effects from the use of probiotics.

And they found that some colonies of bacteria had grown dangerously.

And that there were high levels of D or D-lactic acid.

Lactic acid is a toxic compound for our body.

It is produced by metabolic pathways and then converted back into glucose by the liver, for example as an energy source following intense efforts.
In the intestine, excess lactic acid causes colitis, swelling, excessive bacterial fermentation, diarrhea.

This can happen for:

  • ingestion of probiotics
  • enzyme deficiency of lactase with ingestion of milk
  • excessive intestinal fermentation of some foods
  • the consumption of products that contain it as an additive.

This is the case of packaged ricotta and spreads and some yoghurt.

Being toxic, if we have too much lactic acid in the blood, it also affects brain function .

In this case, lactic acid causes states of confusion, fatigue, dizziness and mental fatigue.

The probiotics would break down, by the action of bacteria, the glucose present in the intestine.
Glucose is converted into D-lactic acid causing excessive production of gases such as methane.

Which then causes persistent intestinal swelling.

According to the researchers, therefore, probiotics are not harmless, but should be used as “drugs”.

For example following heavy antibiotic therapy.

They should never be used every day , or without the conditions for which they may be recommended by your doctor.
