Exercising is better for your metabolism than we think
Exercising regularly has a profound impact on our health: it reduces cardiovascular health risks, allows us to stay fit and lose weight, strengthens skeletal muscle tissue, has an antidepressant effect.
But today a new study finds that physical activity also has a positive impact on our metabolism.
A study published in the journal Cardiovascular Research has in fact analyzed the metabolites, or all those substances produced by our metabolism, in subjects who train compared to those who do not train.
DOING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IS GOOD FOR METABOLISM, THIS STUDY SHOWS IT
By studying how metabolites change in people who exercise regularly, researchers have made some interesting discoveries.
Here are some of them.
- Those who train more muscle mass more easily burn reserve fat even at rest.
- Exercising has a positive effect on the good bacteria in the gut. Which means more regularity and better digestion.
- Those who exercise regularly reduce the risk of thrombosis.
- In trained subjects, the proteins consumed in the diet are used more efficiently by the body.
HOW TO DO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IF YOU ARE AT HOME
I have written numerous articles on free home exercise programs, for those who can’t go to the gym, or for those who aren’t comfortable going to the gym.
I suggest some of them.
Workout at home for weight loss, plan + diet.
20-minute workout schedule to do at home.
Fitness at home, all the options for bodyweight training.
For those with limited mobility or sedentary over 50s, I recommend watching the walking workout at home with the diet.
