17 tricks to lose weight without diet or sport
There are 17 tricks to lose weight that do not concern either the weight loss diet (or everything that revolves around it: eat less, cut calories, choose certain foods) or sports or any physical activity.
Is it possible that there are 17 things that affect our body weight without belonging to these two categories? Well yes. And they will surprise you too.
17 TRICKS TO LOSE WEIGHT (WITHOUT DIET OR SPORTS)
- Surround yourself with productive people.
Surround yourself with better people than you is a great life lesson that will inspire you to improve everything you do. Also in the management of your weight and in the relationship with your body. Forget those who always complain, those who try three thousand diets, those who are prey to food obsessions, those who push you to eat too much or badly (many of your friends do it unknowingly). - Surround yourself with people who have controlled eating. Nobody thinks about it, but the environment matters a lot in the relationship with our body. When I lost nearly 30 pounds as a young girl, I did it because my friends were thinner than me. I don’t want to say that people have to condition you and that you have to conform to others, absolutely: but that we can learn something from those who have a healthy relationship with food, healthy and straightforward, especially if we don’t have it and we want to lose weight.
- Don’t look at advertisements.
I notice that new snacks and treats come out the (few) times I go to a supermarket. Since I have not seen TV, I see fewer commercials, and I am less influenced. At one time I would have bought many of the things that came out on the market, especially for snacks or snacks. In my opinion it happens to you too, but it’s not just for food commercials that you have to stay away from TV commercials. The frustration of the new car that you can’t afford also goes a long way, in terms of “maybe I’ll eat some cookies, I deserve them”. - Chew better.
Digest better, allow your body to feed more easily, get full earlier, reduce the air in your belly (and belly). What else do you want? Ah, by chewing you burn more calories. Just count 30 seconds per bite and take small bites.
Seriously, what else do you want? - Sleep.
Sleep and metabolism are closely related: metabolism goes up if we sleep more and goes down if we sleep less. It is not only rest, but also alignment with our circadian rhythms, which favors our hormonal balance and also our appetite. - Sit down (when you eat).
Try eating standing up, maybe while you’re eating, start talking or, worse, call someone. Just keep working. Feel free to use your lunch break to chat, get angry, read, or do anything other than looking at your plate, sitting and relaxing. And you will gain weight, because after half an hour you will be hungry again. - Eat something healthy before you go shopping.
This was established by an interesting study , whereby if we eat an apple or two carrots, before going shopping we will have a better chance of avoiding buying junk at the supermarket. - Focus on what you eat: see point 6.
- Focus on colors.
Using dishes with colors that contrast strongly with what we eat (red or yellow) helps us eat less naturally. - Choose small plates.
The food will seem more abundant on the plate and we will tend to make it enough. If the dish is bigger, after we finish it, we will tend to feel hungry again. I have tried and it works. - Choose tall, narrow glasses. They contain less liquid than low and short ones. If you are someone who likes to drink anything other than water, go for these glasses to fill you up sooner.
- Keep food out of reach.
Another study found that keeping food out of reach (you have to get up, look for it, or even go shopping) automatically causes you to eat a lot less; it works the same for sight. If the sight of a food makes our mouth water, not seeing it makes us think less about eating. So no food in plain sight for the house. - Organize the fridge like this: behind (far behind) the things we love to eat, the delicacies. Later on things of daily use, such as fruits and vegetables.
- Play… er… Tetris. If you are being fed out of boredom or because you crave something good but yours is not hungry, then play Tetris. Or some old videogame, or some very basic and geometric game on your phone. Or Sudoku if you don’t like digital solutions. It makes hunger go away.
- Close-fitting clothes. If you are feeling out of shape, this is the time when you need to put on something skin-tight, paint your nails, put on good makeup and go out. If you dress like a sack of potatoes you will feel empowered to eat more, you feel so bad to start with, right? Wrong.
- Leave the bubbles aside. Fizzy drinks, no matter if they are sweetened or sweetened with real sugar, tend to make you eat more.
- Take it easy. Stress is a major obesogenic factor. Avoid it in all ways during the day. You will be more likely to lose weight effortlessly. Insights: THE INSTINCTIVE DIET.
