  • Ingrediants.

  • One kg of green leafy vegetables (except cabbage, broccoli, rocket): good spinach, lettuce, watercress, chicory, chard.
  • About two liters of water.
  • Method.

  • Wash the vegetables very well, remove the ribs and the leathery parts.
    In a very large pot, with a capacity of about 3-4 liters, cram the vegetables and cover with about two liters of water.
  • At this point, put the vegetables to boil, but over a low flame and not over a high flame.
  • After about half an hour from the moment of boiling, you can turn it off and let it cool. The vegetables must have lost their green color and changed to yellow / brown. This means that the magnesium has detached from the foliage, altering the color of the chlorophyll by reaction and dispersing in the water.
  • At this point, remove the vegetables from the pot with a ladle or skimmer, trying to leave the liquid in the pot.
  • You can then freeze the vegetables and use them in preparations, such as savory pies, pizzas, vegetable croquettes, vegetable creams.
  • Liquid is your natural magnesium supplement.
  • I generally freeze it in paper cups, which I then cover, while if I freeze it in ice molds I thaw 4 cubes in the evening to take it the next day. About half a glass a day is enough, twice a day.
  • You can then dilute it with more water, add lemon juice, drink it pure or even add a hint of honey.
