The foot in reflexology

The foot in reflexology

Foot reflexology considers the foot as the mirror of the body. How to restore balance to the entire body by massaging the different areas of the foot that accommodate a large number of nerve endings

The foot in reflexology

The feet are a delicate, precious structure, essential for a good quality of life, which is subjected to inevitable daily overload; therefore they deserve to be the object of attention and care.

The existence of reflex reactions to a contact is not only the subject of reliable reports by doctors, but a very common banal experience .

A nice warm bath or a good foot massage are always followed by a very pleasant and relaxing sensation.

Foot reflexology

One of the most ancient systems to restore and stimulate the flow of body energy is the  massage , born as an instinctive gesture and which over time has become more and more specializing. Under the heading reflexology all those natural medicines that act on the reflex points of the human body are cataloged, including acupuncture, shiatsu, auriculotherapy and, of course,  foot reflexology, also called plantar reflexology .

Foot reflexology is a technique through which the energy balance of the body is re-established, using a particular type of massage which, through the stimulation and compression of  specific reflex points on the feet , energetically related to organs and systems, allows you to exercise preventive action and intervention on any imbalances in the organism. What is the relationship between foot and reflexology?

Foot and reflexology

The foot is the microcosm on which the whole organism is projected. This means that, according to the reflexology of the foot, organs can be located on the sole : if you put your two feet together, the two big toes represent the head and descending along the foot gradually descends along the body.

For example, the central part that joins the two feet , that is the internal bony part of the feet represents our spine and massaging a point in that area massages a point on the back.

Reflexology notes that the right foot corresponds to the most rational part of us, while the left foot corresponds to the irrational, to affectivity, to instinct.

Some interesting considerations are deduced from this ; for example, if a person is affected by hallux valgus more markedly in the left foot it means that he has affective problems; if in the right it means that it is burdened by problems of a rational type.

Those who have the second toe of the left foot longer than the big toe , often suffer from heart problems, live in a hyperactive way, with emotion, love to dress in dark colors and prefer bitter flavors in food.

Foot reflexology treatment  tends to improve in three main areas  :  congestion , inflammation  and  tension . The goal is to gradually eliminate these often interconnected conditions, eventually restoring the body’s balance.

The expert operator will have a remarkable sensitivity in perceiving the patient’s reaction when a critical area is reached. The number of sessions needed to get better obviously depends on the general state of health.

Some rules for foot health

Foot reflexology contemplates various indications  regarding the well-being of the person concentrated in the foot.

You should therefore avoid repeated foot baths in too hot water and the frequent use of high heels . It is also advisable to change the footwear you wear often.

On the other hand, a daily foot bath is recommended, together with the use of neutral soaps and specialized products. Cut your nails often and adjust the heel to your personal needs (never too high).

Obviously, choose footwear with a comfortable sole, of your own size (not bigger because the foot would be subjected to rubbing, not smaller because the foot would be too constrained).
