Nicole Kidman’s diet: the 80/20 method
How does actress Nicole Kidman stay fit? You will say: and what do we care?
But a moment: it seems that Nicole Kidman unlike many other personalities of the show adopts a method , which I have already talked about, which allows her to eat the foods she loves most (and that we love too) but still maintain a ‘ healthy eating.
This method is called 80/20. That is: for eighty percent of the time we eat healthier and more nutritious foods, for twenty percent we indulge in some whim. In a diet of about two thousand calories this translates into: 1600 calories from healthy and nutritious foods, 400 calories from various types of treats.
Looking at Nicole Kidman’s diet we find a classic example of this method, which can be useful to those who:
– believe that they NEVER have to indulge in foods that they consider fat, too sugary or simply food for their own pleasure. This is not only not true, but then risks leading us to nervous hunger and a tendency to overeat.
– would like to lead a healthy lifestyle, but being too rigid he is unable to maintain it over time: constancy is a fundamental factor for having a healthy lifestyle. If some foods, giving us satisfaction, allow us to maintain a healthy diet for eighty percent of the time, we welcome these foods!
– develops over time a disturbed relationship with food, characterized by the imposition of food duties (healthy eating) and thus suffocating their own cravings, which are judged unhealthy. This leads to the generation of a continuous state of stress, alertness and anxiety which instead risk making us fat. One becomes obsessive towards food, when it would be enough to simply moderate oneself, without however eliminating.
– considers it important to be satisfied, but not to be satisfied: satiety and satisfaction from a meal are different things. We can be satisfied but not satisfied, and this only increases the desire for foods that can satisfy us instead.
NICOLE KIDMAN’S DIET
Here are the foods that, for example, Nicole Kidman allows herself often.
– Sandwich with smoked meat or Australian sausages
– Sandwiches with melted cheese (loves Parmigiano Reggiano)
– Pizza (with truffles)
– Cappuccini sugared and with chocolate sauce or chocolate powder on top
The 80/20 method can in fact also be applied in a different: for example, on seven days, five of moderate and healthier nutrition, two in which we indulge in whims (for example on the weekend). For people who suffer from cravings for sweets, nervous hunger and have an obsessive or difficult relationship with food, I tend to recommend indulging in something on a daily basis.
But it is very subjective. Kidman, for example, balances certain overly fatty foods with fruits, vegetables, grilled fish, practices yoga and loves to run. She doesn’t like alcohol and industrial sausages, she takes a multivitamin (from Swiss) but she says she’s a bad cook, and she prefers to eat a little bit of everything. In this way she manages to keep fit without giving up.
