Every year, when a new device with better technical characteristics than the previous version is launched, we often find the list price also rise, sometimes by a lot, sometimes by very little. In fact, in recent times we have seen those that are considered the top of the range rise almost double, sometimes reaching figures of just under two thousand euros.

However, it seems that Apple , with the new iPhone 12 , should not implement this price increase. According to an analyst at TF International Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo , even with the integration of 5G and the use of a metal case that the current iPhone does not have, the new devices are not expected to receive a substantial price increase. To implement this “policy” Apple is also reducing the expenses of the supply chain by moving the component research and development apparatus to its internal division.

It also seems that the base model of the new iPhone 12 could be equipped with an LCD screen , unlike the other models in the new range which, in all probability, will have an OLED panel . However, for the reasons mentioned above such as 5G and the use of the metal body, Apple will have to contain production costs to be able to bring new technologies at an affordable price better than in the past.
