“Instead of treating the symptoms, the RPO® operator takes care of the men who produced them!” Milena Simeoni

Holistic Podalic Reflexology, interview with Milena Simeoni

Reflexology allows you to get to know the individual and to study the imbalances manifested in a personalized way by  finding ad hoc and tailor-made solutions. We talked about it together with  Milena Simeoni , naturopath and teacher of numerous courses at the Lumen School of Naturopathy.

He lives in an ecovillage , and experiences what he teaches on a daily basis. He devised the RPO ® and Analogue Medicine ® method of Holistic Podalic Reflexology . From 2010 to 2017 responsible, for the Piacenza office, of the DIANA 5 project (Study for the Prevention of Breast Cancer Recurrences through Diet and Lifestyle) conducted by Prof. Franco Berrino of the IRCCS Foundation (National Institute for Study and Treatment of Tumors in Milan).

Author of numerous books on natural health, Milena is pure energy and enthusiasm, her interest in improving the lives of those she meets is supported by continuous training.

Reflexology, why is it a valid tool for health?

The common reflexology is basically a technique of stimulation of the points that reflect the individual . The term “reflexology” describes the study of “reflection”, in those disciplines that affirm that the individual is reflected in every little part of himself.

All reflected techniques rest their foundations on the principle ” as in the macrocosm so in the microcosm and vice versa “.

There are many reflex techniques that teach, in fact, that a fragment of the individual contains the same as a whole: from foot reflexology to that of the hand , from iridology to the evaluation of the tongue, from the analysis of the wrist to that of the face. . All these disciplines have their roots in the principle “as in the big so in the small”.

Foot reflexology aims, through the stimulation of the reflex zones of a specific organ, to bring benefit to it and, indirectly, to the entire individual.

In general, the common foot reflexology is used symptomatically . The operator treats, with acupressure and other maneuvers, the reflex points that have to do with the manifest disturbance.

For example, if a user suffers from a respiratory problem, the operator treats the points of the reflex zones of the respiratory system and those of the lymphatic system, the musculature and the skeletal system proximal to the respiratory system.

In doing so, the operator places the symptom at the center and operates on the basis of symptomatic protocols, assuming that the organ that is expressing the discomfort is the one that contains the problem. But are we sure that those who express discomfort in a group are necessarily the weakest ? Are we sure that Giuseppe’s asthma is the same thing as Francesca’s or Riccardo’s?

The RPO ® method helps us to overcome these 2 paradigms belonging to a symptomatic and separatist vision that sees the symptom as the product of a specific organ and not of the whole.

How was RPO ® born ?
The RPO ® method is the result of the teachings received, the daily experience and the comparative study of the different reflexology schools .

RPO ® arises from the need to identify a health tool that goes beyond the limit of the symptomatic protocol and that allows you to work in a personalized and specific way on each individual in the different moments of his life .

How does RPO ® differ from other reflexology approaches?

Compared to other reflex techniques, which take into account other body segments (eye, tongue, ear and hand), the foot provides more accurate information thanks to its greater surface , reactivity and the possibility of being studied in a multisensory way (palpation, observation and olfactory identification).

The RPO ® allows you to follow the evolution of the work done : the reflex responses and the structure change, in a dynamic way, with the variation of the state of health.

The RPO ® method teaches, on the one hand, to treat the feet, and on the other to observe them: the two phases, analysis and intervention , make the RPO ® method a complete tool.

During the analysis phase, what we call a “personalized operative protocol” is constructed , which consists in recording the intensity of pain of the various reflex points and the types of alterations (skeletal, muscular, skin). Thus a real map is built which:

> it is considered the “photograph” of the individual as a whole at that precise moment;
> it is the guide for the organization of treatments (customized operational protocol);
highlights the reflex areas that have priority alterations , considered in the RPO method, the cause of the manifest imbalance.

For example, in a person suffering from joint pain , the priority alteration of the digestive system highlights that at the base of the manifest symptom there is a discomfort of the digestive system and that, vice versa, to improve or resolve joint pain it is necessary to nourish the state of digestive system health . The priority reflex alteration is in the RPO considered the epicenter of the manifest problem.

The concept of health in the holistic view fits perfectly with the RPO ® , as, at the base of this concept, it is the individual who occupies a central role and not the disease. This in full compliance with the law “as in the macrocosm so in the microcosm” which teaches that the feet, in the small, reflect the whole individual.

Compared to common foot reflexology, RPO ® identifies, in addition to the plantar map, the dorsal, lateral and medial maps , considerably expanding the points to be analyzed.

The goal is to support the natural self-healing processes , being guided by the wisdom of the body.

The symptom is no longer the “enemy”, the epicenter of the problem, but the light that comes on to highlight a greater and deeper discomfort . The RPO ® method , through pressure stimulation, acts by increasing vitality, consequently reactivates the organic functionality, favoring the increase of vital energy and the elimination of toxins , favoring physical and psycho-emotional rebalancing.

How is a treatment structured?

What in RPO ® we call initial analysis is a particular type of treatment that differs from ordinary treatment.

During the initial analysis, through the stimulation of the points , the operator draws up a map that highlights the different pain intensities of the different reflex zones.

The RPO ® operator by relating this initial map with the information provided by the user formulates a hypothesis of contributing causes , draws up an evaluation and identifies an operational purpose which, normally, does not coincide with the symptomatic purpose of the user but is indicated by the ‘priority alteration expressed by the feet.

Subsequently he establishes a personalized re-education project that acts simultaneously on the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

In this first session, a project is also carried out which includes a cycle of treatments with a precise frequency during which the points identified as altered will be stimulated and the re-educational support project will be re-evaluated and integrated.

The RPO ® rehabilitation program is an articulated work project that involves all levels of man: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual .

Why is proper training important?

Working on the health of the human being is a delicate and meticulous job , for which good and complete training is necessary and essential.

The health worker must first of all know the complex physiological mechanisms and the multiple processes that contribute to the generation of health or disease. He must also acquire the technical and relational skills necessary to act ethically and effectively .

The training of the LUMEN naturopathy school and specifically of the RPO ®  course is essential to pursue the operational goals according to the dictates of the holistic vision. The RPO ® course is optimally structured, and is able to provide theoretical and practical skills in a professional way .
