Food allergies, 6 bogus tests banned
Reading this news, I personally felt a sense of pleasure: six tests were banned by the SIAAIC (Italian Society of Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology) which in theory should detect allergies or “food intolerances”, but that in the practice are bogus, unreliable, and only make those who believe in them lose money. A hard blow for those who believed they were allergic to that mineral or to a food thanks to the test . According to allergists, in fact, there have been 4 million phony allergy tests which, for some reason, give positive results nine times out of ten, and for which approximately 300 million euros are wasted every year. Who knows how much of this money the Italians spend, and in particular the 8 million who complainimaginary sensitivities , falling victim to real scams.
In particular, there are 6 tests that allergists have branded as unreliable , namely:
the hair test:Â Â verification of the chemicals in the hair to establish the health of the subject
the strength test , evaluates variations in strength when handling presumed harmful foods (such as the DRIA test, already judged unreliable by the scientific community ed)
the vega test, the patient has in one hand a negative electrode attached to a circuit to which the food is applied and the patient is touched with the positive electrode. The variation of the voltage would indicate intolerance to the specific food;
bioresonance , which would evaluate the alterations of the magnetic field of the person induced by food;
the pulse test or test of the cardiac auricular reflex , which evaluates the variations in the pulse rate in contact with food that is presumed to generate intolerance or allergy. (sources on the explanations of the tests: Ok Salute e Quotidiano Sanità  )
How much do these tests cost? From 90 to 500 euros, but it doesn’t end there .
What not everyone knows is that alongside the test, a specific diet can often be provided, a diet that would be absolutely useless.
Truly holy words are those of the president of SIAAIC, Walter Canonica : “” Unfortunately food intolerances, moreover confused by the majority with real allergies, are now a “fashion” with which the most disparate symptoms are explained: those who do not manages to lose weight often becomes convinced that it is the fault of an intolerance, while none of the real ones can make you fat. Acute urticaria, gastrointestinal symptoms and anaphylaxis are the hallmarks of allergies, but today it is enough to have inexplicable tiredness, some digestive difficulties, headaches, joint pains or other non-specific and not easily identifiable disorders to self-diagnose a food intolerance “by taking aims “a food almost at random”.
Got it, yes? Those who tend to gain weight or have weight problems often rely on the hands of experts who convince them that there is a food intolerance at the basis of the extra pounds, legitimizing it with symptoms that may have little or nothing to do with it and with a test that does not it is not even reliable but it almost always shows a positive result.
The advice of the experts is therefore not to fall victim to these scams.
