After talking about the Oberhammer method of detoxification and purification according to biotypes, let’s see another diet of biotypes, that of Dr. Serena Missori , endocrinologist, specialist in diabetes and nutrition.
According to Dr. Missori , there are biotypes that determine our differences both in the way we get sick and in the way we gain weight. Biotypes are both constitutional and hormonal: in your new book, The Diet of Biotypes, it is possible to do a test that determines both your constitutional biotype and your hormonal biotype, or to understand if we are “mixed biotypes”.

Missori’s reasoning is that the biotype is a complex system , and in order to understand one’s biotype and lose weight according to one’s biotype, it is necessary to consider both the physical constitution and the health problems that we develop over time but also the disorders that derive from food and the environment. Only in this way will we be able to understand which diet is right for us , but before talking about nutrition in the strict sense, the doctor believes that personalized detoxification programs, which she calls reset phases , are indispensable . These phases can last from 3 days to a few weeks and allow you to improve your metabolism and health.

For example, there are four constitutional biotypes: cerebral, bilious, lymphatic and blood, but as I explained to you, the distinction by biotypes does not end there. There are also functional hormonal and visceral biotypes: thyroid, adrenal, hepatic, estrogenic, renal and gastrointestinal biotypes, which we can identify starting from the disorders we suffer from but also from the points where we accumulate body fat. By associating the constitutional biotype to one’s functional biotype, we come to understand “what we are made of” and to make the right biotype diet for us.
